Just what the Multihull Sailing community had been waiting for was delivered by TAG Yachts in 2010. Launching its first TAG 60 foot high performance catamaran, TANG, was a culmination of the foresight of yard owner and avid Catamaran Sailor, Tim Van Der Steene and the flawless execution of the build overseen by Technical Director, Leon Scheepers. His team of staff and the various sub-contractors have delivered a product that has been well received both locally and overseas.

This Greg Young designed Catamaran ticks all the boxes when it comes to high performance, functionality, efficiency and overall comfort onboard. The 1.3M bridge deck clearance affords near silence in those short choppy seas. The complete carbon build and carbon rig results in a very stiff and high performing boat with no flexing in the structure and the resultant response in any sea state affords you a comfortable no pounding / no slamming ride, and fast too!

The twin helm stations are a beauty. Not only do they afford the skipper a direct 100% view forward but also an uncompromised view of your sail plan. Trimming the sails by way of hydraulic push buttons transports you into another world and very little effort is required to keep this Cat on the straight and narrow. This is fast speed sailing in sheer comfort with no sweat!

Going below decks you would think you’re onboard a luxury superyacht with all the frills and home comforts normally associated with weight and a resultant slow performance. Not so on the TAG 60, with its furniture panels manufactured in lightweight cores and bonded veneers, and the carbon counter tops, affords you all and more to make you feel serenely comfortable below decks either at your favourite anchorage or sliding through the waves on that ocean crossing between cruising grounds.
